BB boys recognised by Brigade President |
|
Sunday 22nd March was a very special day for the 229th Glasgow Boys' Brigade company, as we were honoured by a very special visitor - Professor Sir Kenneth Calman, KCB, National President of the Boys' Brigade.
Sir Kenneth's main reason for visiting was to present one of our boys - S/Sgt Scott Laidlaw - with the President's Commendation Certificate. This special award was given to Scott in recognition of his courage and determination to gain his Queen's Badge, in spite of his limited physical abilities. This wasn't the only award given out by Sir Kenneth, though. Two of our boys - Sgt. David Hanton and Sgt. Robbie Marshall - had completed the work required to gain their President's Badge. And who better to present these awards, than the Brigade President himself! We congratulate Scott, David and Robbie on their achievement, and thank Sir Kenneth for giving of his valuable time to present the awards, and make the event so memorable.
